ADORE NAILS & SPA LLC

This one is gonna be a bit of a long one so buckle up. I went in today after work to give myself a little treat. Now, I've been here a couple times before and never had a problem. But today was such a bad experience I will never be going there again. I asked for a pedicure and gel nails. My pedicure was fine- the only thing I'd change is the length of my toe nails. They really like to cut them! Now comes the real tea: I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she said she could do it. We talked about specifics for a minute then she went to work taking my nails off. Some background info- I have been getting gel structure and have been building my nail strength back up from having acrylics. This has taken a few months. My nails were strong and healthy again. Long story short- they're not anymore. Mya, I think is her name, the older lady, started taking off these gel nails like they take acrylics. By clipping the fake part of the nail and then going from there. Except- these were my real nails. I thought maybe she thought they were fake so I told her they were my real nails. She said "I know" and kept working. She would take a fake acrylic nail, push it under my gel nails, and try to pop the gel structure off. Mind you, when my regular nail tech takes off the gel structured nails, she uses her drill. Mya didn't touch her drill until they were off. It hurt so bad, and I verbally told her it hurt, as well as flinching and jerking my hands away. I wanted to cry and even thought about getting up and leaving. I was intimidated tho and made myself stay. (I didn't see my regular lady cuz she's in Caldwell and this place is near my work.) Mya said the design I wanted was going to cost a lot. I told her that I couldn't afford a lot and that I just wanted purple nails. She tried to convince me to get 2 nails with a design for an extra $5. I already knew this was going to be a lot because of the pedi. I told her I just wanted plain purple gel nails. Then she tried to get me to get dip nails. I told her twice that I wasn't interested. I did ask if it was more expensive and she said it is. I told her I only have enough for my pedi and gel nails. I looked at their menu and figured it would be about $70 total, then a tip. She mumbled something about how I always ask about prices. (Of course I do! I'm not trying to pay a shit ton of money to get my nails done!) Mya mentioned how thin my nails are, and I wanted to bawl. The long healthy nails were gone and left in their place was short, thin nails due to her ripping them off. She then offered to do a design for free. I didn't feel comfortable with that and told her no thank you. She insisted and I told her I'd rather pay $5 extra rather than get free services. (I felt weirded out, and like there were going to be strings attached.) She insist that I get them for free. The nails don't look bad, but the process was. In the end, she told me my total was $95. I was on the verge of tears, and after my day at work, and the whole experience, I didn't have the energy to fight it. I didn't want to leave a tip either, but felt like I had to. I spent $100 dollars for a pedi and just normal gel nails. I still don't understand where the $95 came from. I know I should have said something, but I was doing my best. If you made it to the end, sorry for the length, but I don't recommend this place. If you do go, don't let Mya do your nails.
