Blackledge Face Center

After several interviews with different facial surgeons, I decided to trust Adair Blackledge. I went through several pt results and photos of before and after before settling on my decision. My initial consult with Blackledge consisted of sending a few photos and a 20-minute phone call. I received an email with pre - and post instructions about two weeks before the surgery date. No preoperative testing was done even after I specifically asked. Upon arriving at his private facility the morning of my surgery, both me and my husband and I were brought to a waiting room, met Blackledge for the first time with maybe a 5 minute conversation. Was given 2 pills without any explanation and signed consents, bag with dressings was given to my spouse. When I was barely able to walk I was brought into what looked like a storage closet, not a true operating room, and was laid down on a table with all my clothes on which is not normal for a operating room environment. I specifically asked for an IV with versed, but it was never intended to even happen, but they did oblige. There's no way I wanted to be awake for these procedures. I remember waking up with the sound of the stapler engaging in my head. No other surgeon I interviewed would have ever used staples on incision lines but would rather use only sutures for better results and less scarring. I woke up as expected, swollen and sore. On the drive home the sutures in my upper eye lid came apart, called him immediately and he told me it wasn't a big issue but I could turn around and he would put another stitch, there was only maybe 3 sutures in my lids which is also not normal. The next morning, when I took off my bandages, I was shocked with the amount of staples that was on every incision. On a follow-up call, he said oh we will mail you a staple remover so you can take them out, like what the hell. My incisions are very noticeable to everyone, I have developed keloid tissue behind both ears, and when I sent Blackledge pictures, he offered to do steroid injections to help flatten the scars. The scars are still raised after 2 rounds of steroids and laser treatment. I will not let him cut on my again as I do NOT believe he actually performed an actual deep plane facelift on me, I believe he only cut skin and stapled back together without any actual muscle repair. The number of procedures i was supposed to have done should have taken 4 hours with all other plastic surgeons i interviewed. he only took an hour and a half. Results are not what they should be, I will have to find a board certified surgeon that is skilled in revisions. Would not recommend him by any means. He does not actually listen to patients and is not board certified but is more than willing to make you feel like your results are absolutely amazing regardless of what the patient says or feels.
