My son has taken his vehicle to the Gordon Road Canadian Tire location and always received above average service. I have gone there for years for tires as well. This is why I was completely surprised by the service we received today. My son had an appointment for 1130 this morning for a tire rotation, oil change, replacement of a front indicator light, brakes, and vehicle inspection. He provided his contact information and was told the work would be completed by 5:00 pm. The vehicle was not ready until 6:30 pm. We tried calling 5 times before we went to the store and were hung up in each time. While waiting in line I saw one of the service desk employees lift the receiver and put it down without saying anything to the caller. When it was our turn in line the same person stated the vehicle was just finished (that was at 6:30) the light indicator light was not replaced and the wheel alignment were not done but they would do that if we wanted to wait. I stated the appointment was made for 11:30 to which the service desk employee stated it was an all day appointment. They did not return any phone call my son made to them throughout the day. I asked to speak to a manager to which the service desk employee stated there wasn’t one. I left to go to the return desk and found 2 managers: one general manager and the parts manager. They took my contact information to have the auto service manager call me when he’s in the next day. My son stated he would not be returning to the store for auto service and I will not be returning for automotive services. My son spent close to $650 today. I’ve spent thousands of dollars there over the years. There was a gentleman behind me in line that gave me the contact information for his auto services storeand stated he had a similar experience to ours prior to changing and he was picking up a vehicle for a friend. I left to allow my son to complete his transaction. The parts manager mockingly asked the gentleman behind me if they were going to lose him as a customer as well to which he replied he would not buy anything from them if his life depended on it. It is understandable things are missed and the unexpected occurrence happens. I had to ask one of the managers if they wanted my contact information. I hope this is a one off for this location but after today will not return to find out. It’s very disappointing to know nothing will happen and consumers will continue to be treated with disrespect and as if they don’t matter.
