Worst experience ever. We were repeat customers. They knowingly sell and promise superiority, a poor and dangerous Kidde product with 191 bad reviews on the Kidde site. The manager, after a hellish weekend of false alarms at 3 am and around the clock, admitted the product is bogus and the company has complained to Kidde with no resolution. They charged us $238 per unit plus installation but the cost is $119 per unit. That was the defective and recalled unit. After several calls and exchanges they agreed to replace. Tech shows up and installs smoke deter tir only Amazon price $60 for a three pack. Had to call back when we realized what he installed, after asking and checking it was combo unit. It wasn’t. We got a “ I’m just the tech” bs answer. Called again. Now, third time a third technician is supposedly installing a Combo unit they had to buy privately because they only sell the bogus Kidde product at a 110% markup to you, the customer.
We paid over $1000 for this abysmal service.
My bigger issue ( personal loss aside) is the young families with kids living on top floors with few options resting at night thinking that Caotain Ekectric has their back. They do not. Just think for a moment about that. Life saving devices installed at a huge premium for peace of mind that’s actual false. And they know it! The manager admitted it and admitted the company is not resolving their complaints re this model. Yet they continue to buy it and push it on their unsuspecting customers. There’s a news story. This somewhere. Thus should be illegal.
