I recently had an unexpected and disappointing experience at the Airdrie Fabutan location. Despite being a regular customer for nearly two years and always receiving excellent service, I was shocked by the interaction on 08/22/2024 @ 10AM. The individual's approach drastically differed; instead of the usual warm welcome, I was met with condescension and unnecessary pressure sales tactics.
During my visit, I was bombarded with questions about my lotion, its origin, and its purchase date. While I acknowledged uncertainty about the specifics of the lotion, I was informed that products from outside could have expired best before dates. This encounter not only lacked professionalism but also left me feeling pressured and uncomfortable.
Having spent four decades in the retail industry, I believe that such high-pressure sales using shame tactics are unnecessary and unprofessional. When I requested a refund for over 400 minutes, I was informed it was against policy, and I was advised to use them elsewhere. This decision reflects poor management and customer service practices.
It is crucial for businesses to provide adequate sales training to their staff to avoid such instances. Encouraging guests to make purchases should not come at the cost of customer satisfaction.
