NIGHTMARE TO WORK WITH, INCOMPETANT ! PUT THE WRONG PLUMBING IN A CONDO! DENIES AND LIES AND REFUSES TO FIX THE SITUATION! $5000 WORTH OF WORK INCORRECTLY. WILL BE FILLING A COMPLAINT TO MUNIPAL LICENSE AND STANDARDS AS WELL AS TAKING HIM TO COURT.
Mika from Fateh Plumbing & Bath Reno was hired to complete the plumbing work in my condo on November 21, 2021. He was hired by the designer I was working with. He requested cash payments for the work and refused to provide any receipts. He stated he wanted to avoid claiming the income. He was paid $5000 dollars via e-transfer to my designer in installments who would then pay him cash. He came to my Condo to start the first part of work that had to be done in the washrooms, the rough in for the fixtures in the showers and faucets and plumbing around the sink. He was supposed to have the water off when leaving the Condo. After his work, I was contacted by the superintendent that my condo was flooding. It was then determined that the water was not turned off after the first phase of his work was completed. When asked about the incident he denied it completely. This ended up costing me 11k in damage to my new flooring and to the unit downstairs (which was not covered by insurance).
The second finishing part of the plumbing was delayed due to covid delays and I ended up having my contractor install the fixtures as the rough in had been completed by Mika.
When the fixtures were then to be installed it was determined there were multiple issues;
1. Rough in was too deep in the wall, shower handheld fixture could not be installed
2. All the rough-in plumbing had been done incorrectly and was all illegal for bathrooms in both bathrooms.
3. One of the pipes in the wall (rough in work) had begun leaking
When I contacted Mika, he asked why it had been " so long" even though he was aware the full renovation had taken almost 4 times the time due to covid delays. He also denied ever coming to my property, would ignore my texts and phone calls and once reached would advise me he had " no record" of ever coming to my property. He then advised me he would only come if I signed a document stating he was not responsible for any damage then charged me further for redoing the work he was originally paid for.
He continues to avoid discussing the issues showing unprofessionalism, avoiding his tax responsibility with only accepting cash payments and mass incompetence in performing the plumbing duties he is licensed to complete. As a licensed plumber, he should understand you require specific types of plumbing for condos. I have attempted to contact Mika numerous times over the past year and he either ignores communication, denies it, requests " screen shots" of past conversations instead of returning calls, pretending it's not him I'm calling or texting, or on our last conversation attempted to charge me even more to fix his shoddy work.
I have received consultation by three different plumbing companies that the plumbing completed is illegal for Condos and that this should be known by a licensed plumber with his qualifications. The cost of remedying the situation would involve having to tear out existing tile, drywall and custom vanities for it to be changed, then to re purchase the materials and pay for labor to redo all the work in the bathrooms.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY HE IS THE OWNER AND IS NOT COMPETANT OR HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED OF HIS LICENSE. HE RUFUSES TO TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR MISTAKES, AVOID THE NIGHTMARE!!!
