Buyer beware!!! DO NOT build with Heller!!!

What a nightmare of a building process. This was our second build but first with Heller. Riley and Harrison give a great first welcome as if they care about their clients. We quickly learned that Heller would push back on issues we found in the home and Heller questioned who is responsible and the never ending line of “who’s going to pay for it.” Making things right is not a priority. They are adamant on protecting their precious bottom line. We had chosen upgrades but it’s clear the workload was too much. Heller should not claim to be a custom builder. Harrison stated that bc we made so many upgrades, they were bound to make mistakes and not get it right. We were fortunate enough to be in contact with a few of the contractors who stood by their work and made things right. We had to go directly to them after Heller refused to do the repairs needed. To work with Heller is to walk into a battlefield and a highly discouraging building experience. You try to go to the next level to the person who should make it right but you’re met with more defensiveness and justification for why they don’t need to make things right. Our first build was a much smoother process where the builder/project manager pointed out issues and was quick to rectify. Heller was so difficult to deal with that we have decided to hire our own contractors to make our home what it should have been in the first place. For the price Heller tries to sell their homes for, you can find a much better builder and have a pleasant experience. Trust the other poor reviews and know that those issues are legit and TAKE THE WARNINGS SERIOUSLY! We have talked to numerous other people who have Heller homes in other neighborhoods who have experienced the same struggles with the same responses… Heller does not take responsibility for anything wrong and is negligent to customer concerns. We can relate with so many of the negative experiences shared. It’s the clients hard earned money… you should get what you pay for without a the headache!!
