I DO NOT recommend Ryan Hurtado Tile.
Ryan tiled my fireplace wall. Here are the numerous issues that I experienced with him.
a. At the beginning of the project, he informed me that this was a two- or three-day project. He was at my house working for six days and provided zero explanation. I took this in stride and let it go.
b. Then when he stated he had completed the project, I made one quick look at his completed work and four (4) of the tiles at the top of the wall were jagged and did not seamlessly go up to the wall. It was horrible craftsmanship. Obviously, he was hoping that I would not notice this major flaw. I took this in stride, and he fixed the issue.
c. Then he made numerous excuses why he was not able to come back to fix this issue. Again, I took this in stride.
d. After he completed this work, I used a light to inspect the rest of his work. I then noticed that numerous places where the tiles protruded forward.
e. He came back to fix four (4) of the tiles. After he completed this work, we noticed other issues. I pointed these out and at this point he became belligerent.
f. He then tried to blame me by stating that I was not happy with the tiles I purchased. That was not true, I actually loved the tile. What I was not happy with was the quality of the work. Then he had the audacity to say that the tiles are meant to be imperfect looking. Well that really does not make sense. When you fixed the first four tiles. They looked perfect. It is not the fault of the tiles!
g. Then he stated that you could come back after two weeks since you would be on vacation. That was largely an untrue statement.
h. I would have been more than happy to renegotiate the job and pay him for the additional work, because I thought that would be fair.
i. However, his attitude and his inability to accept any responsibility for any of this was concerning.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND RYAN. Sloppy work and not professional.
