Beware of iCatch - A Nightmare Experience!
I had the unfortunate experience of hiring iCatch to build my website from scratch, and it turned out to be a complete disaster.
Here's a breakdown :
False Promises and Deceptive Practices: I was promised a website built from scratch, but all they did was recycle my old site, change the template, and transfer it with a myriad of problems. They collected a whopping $15,000 payment and, shockingly, demanded an additional $2,300 after going back and forth with my attorney now they said they wont correct any issues with it and they are demanding payment for "extra work" work that in fact was corrections I sent them and now I am being treated with legal action to recover the monies plus damages, including punitive damages" for sharing this post and they will not fix the website in conclusion they refuse to fix the long list of issues the website has.
Corrupted File and Transfer Refusal: Post-payment, they delivered a corrupted file, rendering the website inoperable when we temp to transfer it, efforts to upload it to our server result in crashes. Despite my continuous payment for a dedicated server, they demand an extra $1,000 for transferring the website. This contradicts our initial plan, where I intended it to be hosted on my dedicated server. Their reluctance to transfer might be tied to the file's issues causing transfer crashes. This not only incurred charges for a dysfunctional website but also disrupted my online sales from May to October 1.
Inventory Transfer Fiasco: Their attempt to transfer my inventory to WooCommerce failed miserably, leaving it half-done with over 1700+ items in draft formats and when I asked them about the missing items they said they did not transfer the other items because they were missing pictures but that is not true on my old system all times that were published have pictures, descriptions both in English and spanish and shipping data. They misplaced links, messed up services, and the mobile site has pricing issues.
Shipping, Currency Converter, and Membership Issues: They set up the website to charge a flat rate for shipping, disregarding international variations. The currency converter malfunctioned, and memberships were mishandled using an outdated system, contrary to our agreed-upon updates.
Livestream Charges with No Functionality: Despite billing me for livestream services, they failed to install it. Their claim of completion only involved mentioning it on the website. No landing page, embedding capability, or launch functionality was provided. This rendered the livestreaming service non-functional. The $2,000 charge included adding "Streaming" to the menu and a graphic, offering no practical livestreaming features. Contrary to promises made in meetings with Chris, the Re-Stream Pro version to enable member participation in livestreams was not implemented as agreed.
Graphic Design Nightmare: Their graphic designer was subpar, forcing me to hire someone externally for graphics. They moved my website to their server, making me pay hosting fees despite having my own hosting.
Refusal to Fix Errors and Refund Money: They flatly refused to fix errors, malfunctions, and refund my money. Tim, one of their key figures, became aggressive and abusive post-payment.
Failed SEO and Google Optimization: Despite assurances of SEO and Google optimization, my website's speed dropped to 26, worse than the old site.
Slander Threats and Ripoff Agreement: When I left a Yelp comment, they threatened legal action for slander. Their "ripoff agreement" conveniently absolves them of responsibility even if the website doesn't work as it should. For example one of my memberships shows an error 404 and wont work at all.
Missed Deadline: Promised a completed website within 3 months, they delivered 8 months later, only changing the template and ruining the entire site.
In conclusion, iCatch is a ripoff, hiring inexperienced individuals to handle projects.
Stay far away from this company, and consider reputable alternatives for your web development needs.
