CROOKS! UP-CHARGES GALORE!!!š” I had a horrible experience during my visit today to Loma Linda Animal Hospital with my dog. Despite being the second customer of the day, I faced significant delays and hours laterā¦was finally seen by a new veterinarian, not Dr. Sig., as the clinic is under new ownership. To make matters worse, my dog was taken behind closed doors, making it impossible for me to see what care, if any, he was receiving. After hoursā¦I found out the only thing that had been done was an x-ray.
I was repeatedly pressured to accept numerous additional charges throughout my dogās visit, including expensive bloodwork ($300) and an unnecessary initial exam fee, despite my dog being an existing patient. each time they presented an additional suggested treatment, shot or whatever, it was in the $300 range, which I thought was strange. During the initial exam, the vet did not even look at my dogās ears, even though I had mentioned they were a little red inside. And when I showed him a few small hotspots on his fur, the vet did not respond. He didnāt look at them and never commented on them nor his ears. I let it go since that was not the primary reason I brought my dog, but I was shocked at he did not address either issue.
The vet recommended an x-ray, which I agreed to, but when it came time to interpret it, he wanted to send the x-ray to a radiologist to be read for additional $300. He was so vague about the x-ray, that I left not having a clue what the x-ray showed. On my bill, I was also charged for three x-ray images, but I was only shown one x-ray image with little to no explanation. After declining having the x-ray read by a radiologist, the vet, on his way out of the room, tried to up charge me for three shots (another $300) he was going to administer to my pooch (behind closed doors).
After declining $900 worth of costly suggestions, I still ended up paying $715 for a broad spectrum antibiotic, a throat swab, and the x-ray, without a clear understanding of my dog's condition. And at the end, it was weirdā¦I was required to pay first, literally told to ācharge out firstā before I would be able to receive the prescribed medication and my dog, which felt unethical.
This place needs to be investigated and shut down! I wouldnāt take a cockroach to them. Super pissed. Do yourself a favor and take your precious fur baby, your valuable time and your hard earned money elsewhere! This place sucks! What a scam!!!!š¤¬
