I originally visited the store hoping to have my dog groomed. After learning that proof of rabies shot was needed we picked up a case of wet food and a medium bag of dry food. After looking around for a bit were on our way up to pay when I stopped my boyfriend bc the treats we had just decided not to get (they are kind of pricey and we were getting the wet/dry food) had bins of them so that you could essentially sample the different options and see if she even liked them. Just to clarify- we weren't feeding her treats. As we were picking them out an employee came up and grabbed the bag of dry food from my boyfriend saying that the bag had a hole in it. At first I was apologetic and confused and then the employee starts saying "I'm asking you to leave now." First of all- we don't steal. Secondly, we were in no way trying to conceal a case and bag of food. Lastly, we were literally 5ft from the cash register. I don't know what his issue was. Aside from the 20 second interaction with the groomer we had no other contact with humans or animals in the store. We were about to spend $38 on food there and would have spent another $30 on grooming if we had been able to. The way he treated us was unfounded and humiliating. Needless to say we went to Petco and will do so in the future.
