First I want to say Dave did an excellent job repairing the outdoor sewer line. He explained everything thoroughly, was on time and handled himself very professionally.
However, I am very disappoint in Smelcer Plumbing for 2 reasons:
1) I was not informed when I scheduled the estimator to come out to look at the job that there would be a $250 fee for running the camera thru the pipe - even though it had already been done, I pinpointed where the pipe has issues.
2) I was quoted a price and then had it switched on me after I had spent time and money to get property ready for your workers with the understanding our bill would be reduced.
Original estimate was $1600 which included removing tree that lay on top of the line. However, I was told that the estimate would be reduced by $600 if I had tree removed myself because y’all would not have to bring in equipment to remove tree.
Based on this verbal conversation with your employee, I hired someone to remove the tree to get ready for your work - and anticipated the bill would be around $1000 based on my conversation with your estimator.
I was extremely surprised when I removed the tree and called to get y’all to come out to replace the line to learn my bill would be $1250 instead of $1000 after the estimator talked to Brett, the owner.
I spent time and money to have the tree removed based on your estimator’s information — only to learn Smelcer had changed their opinion on what it would now cost.
