How are the instructors? Good. How is the new management under Meredith? Awful, rigid, disorganized and lacking any business sense
16 classes in on using up a 20 pack of private classes that I had purchased, my day and time slot was taken away and given to another student was given my spot. 5 emails later still no real explanation given why they would give my slot to someone else. I let it go and planned to take the final 4 privates that I had paid for and just do group classes only going forward.
Two or three weeks later, I received an email from Somos that Sophia has some openings in December. I agreed to take 3 extra private classes (specific days and times) that they offered. I buy each of the 3 classes individually at full price (not a discounted block of classes). Somos emailed me the next day that the third class is no longer available and they will credit the payment I made to the next month. I said no thanks, you can refund the charge of $91.59. The response was that per company policy classes are non-refundable. The policy on the Somos website and the intake form is that the 5 pack, 10 pack and 20 pack are non-refundable – there is no policy about individual classes or anything else being non-refundable. They cancelled the class, so this makes little sense. I have filed a dispute with Visa and am still amazed at how awful I was treated.
