Feedback Funnel Overview & Customization Guide

The feedback funnel is a landing page your customers see when you ask them for a review. Instead of just giving them a raw Google link, the funnel makes the process easier, more flexible, and more professional.

With the funnel, customers can choose where they’d like to leave a review — Google, Facebook, or another site that matters to your business. And if someone didn’t have the best experience, they can quickly share their feedback with you privately instead of leaving it publicly. This way you still learn what went wrong, while giving happy customers the best path to leaving a review online.

That’s why the funnel is better than just a direct Google link: it helps you collect more reviews overall, capture valuable private feedback, and it’s built to follow Google’s review guidelines.

Customizing your funnel

Your funnel comes pre-filled with best practices, so you can start using it right away. If you’d like to customize, you can:

  • Add your logo and choose a star color to match your brand.
  • Decide which review sites you want to display (we always recommend keeping Google first).
  • Adjust the text shown to customers, though our default wording works well for most businesses.
  • Turn on or off the option for private feedback, though we recommend leaving it on so no feedback is lost.

Choosing between funnel types

There are two ways the funnel can be set up, depending on how you’d like the flow to work.

Star Rating First shows customers a quick star rating (or thumbs up/down) before anything else. If they choose a positive rating, they’re shown your review links. If they choose a lower rating, they’re given a private feedback form along with your review links. This approach is helpful if you want to quickly measure customer satisfaction while still giving every customer a chance to leave a public review.

Direct to Review Sites skips the star rating step and takes customers straight to your review links. You can still include a private feedback option here, but the flow is faster and simpler. This option is best if your main priority is collecting as many public reviews as possible, without asking for an extra step.

Which one should you use?

Most businesses use Star Rating First because it gives them more context and helps capture private feedback they would otherwise miss. It’s the safest and most balanced approach.

If speed is more important to you, or if you just want to maximize the number of people who land on your Google or Facebook review page, then Direct to Review Sites may be the better choice.

Next steps

You don’t need to do anything special to get started — your funnel is already set up and ready to use. You can preview it in the editor, share it directly, or send it through your Campaigns for tracking and reporting. You can also generate a QR code that links to your funnel, making it easy to collect reviews from in-store customers.
